It's my birthday today and events like these are always good for hanging out with family. We went to a restaurant called The Boardwalk @ DQ and I had a cocktail and fish and chips. We are always able to talk and have a laugh in our unique quirky way. I got hemp shoes and liqueur chocolates for my birthday.
When I was a child being with family was not optional and so was a very different experience. Birthdays were much more about what presents I was going to get and then later where to go for dinner. Now we live in separate towns, some on the other side of the world, being with family is a bit of an event in itself and we can be more grateful for it when it happens.
I had a video call with my family in Denmark, Europe this afternoon and had a good chat about today and my trip to Vietnam.
