No More Excuses!

Updated: May 10, 2023

I have just completed a 10 day intensive meditation program organised by Mandurah Meditation and it was absolutely amazing.

The meditation allows to reflect deeply on the subconscious mind and eliminate it at the root.

With this meditation retreat I did, you are digging deep into the subconscious mind and are really relying on the Universe's help. After all, how can the mind discard itself? All it can do is surrender.

During the meditation I asked myself how discarding the mind actually works – sometimes I found it worked fantastically well, sometimes it felt like nothing happened at all! In my mind, I felt connections being made – that it was a combination of the lecture describing this meditation and doing action for the world. This seemed to happen automatically, as if by magic or an idea just popping into my head - it was not me consciously trying to figure anything out.

I realised that before, I was making all kinds of excuses as to why I wasn't getting certain things done.

Like writing blogs to share my meditation experience with others, including about my dreams. My biggest excuse was I was too slow because of my mind, which sometimes I struggled to overcome. Despite the absurdity of this argument when actually written down, it has persisted for a long time. And now I can confidently ask the Universe how discarding actually works, there are no excuses.

Just pick what seems like the right thing to do at the time and do it!

Before I was plagued by a lot of negative arguments in my head – some critic pointing out what I was doing wrong, the mistakes I was making or how someone would catch me and scald me for making a compromise or cutting a corner. I would frequently become aware of it and discard it using the meditation method, but it was frequently as if 'I' was doing the discarding and so it didn't seem to work that well.

However, now when I sincerely ask the Universe how discarding works in a very broad sense, it doesn't seem to be an issue at all. I can just get on with the task.
